Spell reading #2 Philosophy on the way to Ecology, Part I, pp. 31 - 44

Found on page 31.

" Yet these sciences consistently overlook our ordinary, everyday experience of the world around us. Our direct experience is necessarily subjective, necessarily relative to our own position or place in the midst of things, to our particular desires, tastes, and concerns. The Everyday world in which we hunger and make love is hardly the mathematically determined object toward which the sciences direct themselves."

Artist Statement: The text above talks about the sciences and how they overlook our relationship with the world around us. I took the text as saying that the world is not dictated by math or science. I created this pastel piece to show my interpretation of what the world might be like if it were controlled by the sciences. Our direct experiences would not be subjective, and people would be more controlled almost like zombies. This is why all the people look like they are in a daze and wavelengths are above them, to strip them of any individuality.
