Taste Project (Ceramics)

The structures that I chose to assemble for Taste symbolize the relationship between organic forms and healthy vegetation. The term organic alludes to something that is derived from nature and it has developed a connotation of being healthy and natural. Likewise, vegetation is derived from nature and is an ideal image for a healthy food option. I blended these two concepts together and was inspired to create the organic structures from nature utilizing neutral colors on my pieces to produce a soft complexion. Found within my clay structures are several forms of vegetation including celery and kale among fruits such as sweet peppers, blueberries and raspberries. The entire array of structures represent a garden inspired by nature and the organic beauty it derives.

This was my final presentation for the Taste project.
